Is there any evidence to support that a geomagnetic reversal would cause an EMP?

Is there any evidence to support the claim that a geomagnetic reversal (which would destablize the magnetic field, and when it restabilized, the magnetic poles would be reversed), would cause a constant, world-wide EMP effect? Please only answer if you have done research into this matter, or if you are an expert. Thanks in advance.
