What would be the effect of the Earth's magnetic field reversing, on civilization? It...?

I invite you to read ( http://www.2012hoax.org/magnetic-pole-shift ) to learn why it isn't a threat in our near future. Even if we were in the beginning of a field reversal, they take thousands of years to happen and you wouldn't notice any major changes in your lifetime. Also the field strength doesn't appear to drop to zero during a reversal either. There are no correlations between past magnetic reversal and extinction events, and more than one magnetic reversal has happened since humans have been around, so the evidence tells us we would be fine, but like I said it takes thousands of years to happen anyways.
